 Ptahshepses dates back to the Fifth Dynasty of the Old Kingdom, around 2494-2345 BCE. Ptahshepses was a priest and overseer of royal temple works. The statue was found in the Saqqara area, a major burial ground for kings and high officials. It features simple yet realistic details, depicting a seated figure in a modest pose. This reflects the importance of priests and officials during that era. The statue is currently displayed in the Egyptian Museum in Cairo. It serves as an example of ancient Egyptian sculpture that highlights the daily life of officials.
