Hatshepsut
Hatshepsut
was a powerful female pharaoh of Egypt's 18th Dynasty, reigning from 1479–1458 BCE. She became pharaoh by declaring herself ruler while acting as regent for her stepson, Thutmose III. Her reign was marked by peace, prosperity, and impressive building projects, including the Deir el-Bahari temple. Hatshepsut also organized successful trade expeditions, such as to Punt, bringing valuable resources back to Egypt. Despite her achievements, later rulers tried to erase her legacy, though modern discoveries have restored her historical significance.
