The
Statue of King Khafre dates back to the 4th Dynasty (around 2570 B.C.) and depicts the king seated on his throne, with the falcon god Horus protecting him from behind. Carved from green diorite, the statue showcases the exceptional craftsmanship of ancient Egyptian artisans. It was discovered in the
Valley Temple of the Pyramid of Khafre at Giza. The statue is currently displayed in the
Egyptian Museum in Cairo. It symbolizes the king’s divine authority and his role as the protector of Egypt, reflecting the strong connection between the king
and the gods.
