The Statue of King Djoser dates back to the 3rd Dynasty (around 2670 B.C.) and is the oldest life-sized statue in Egypt. Made of limestone, it depicts the king seated on his throne, wearing the royal robe and the White Crown of Upper Egypt. The statue was discovered in the Step Pyramid complex at Saqqara. It is currently displayed in the Egyptian Museum in Cairo. The statue symbolizes King Djoser as the founder of the Pyramid Age and highlights his role in commissioning the first pyram
id in history, the Step Pyramid.
