The Statue of Userkaf
| The Statue of Userkaf |
The Statue of Userkaf dates back to the 5th Dynasty (around 2494-2487 B.C.) and depicts the king standing with a stern expression, wearing the royal crown. Carved from limestone, the statue was likely part of his Sun Temple at Abu Sir. It is currently displayed in the Egyptian Museum in Cairo. The statue symbolizes the king’s divine connection with the sun god Ra and his role as a mediator between the gods and the people. Userkaf is known for being the first pharaoh of the 5th Dynasty, establishing a new era of sun worship.
