The Statue of Thutmose II

 The Statue of Thutmose II

The Statue of Thutmose II dates back to the 18th Dynasty (around 1493-1479 B.C.) and depicts the king seated, wearing the royal crown and ceremonial attire. Carved from limestone, the statue reflects his role as a ruler of Egypt during a time of stability. It was discovered at the Karnak Temple in Luxor. The statue is currently displayed in the Egyptian Museum in Cairo. It symbolizes political and religious stability during his reign, although Thutmose II’s reign was short, and he is often overshadowed by his more famous successors.
